In order to serve its objectives, the cluster has, inter alia, completed the following activities:

  •          Raising awareness of society and promoting the importance of collaboration, networking and participation in joint projects
  •          Dynamization of the cluster
  •          Promotion and dissemination of the transport and logistics sector and the members of the CCTL
  •          Information and communication concerning the missions, objectives and activities of the cluster
  •          Design and implementation of processes, guaranteeing quality and innovation
  •          Efficient use of already existing or expandable infrastructures
  •          Development of technological capacity and innovation of the whole transport and logistic sector
  •          Encouraging the establishment of agreements, and the conventions and collaboration agreements between the cluster members and third organizations
  •          Conduct of studies and technical and economic analyses of the situation, evolution and needs of the sector and its context
  •          Identification and development of common projects aiming their objectives
  •        Establishment of working groups for the studies of different sectoral themes, the identification of common needs, and the consultation and coordination mechanisms of the interaction between businesses, government, technology centres and universities
  •         Technological monitoring, communication and disclosure of information provide a powerful leverage in the communication and interaction among its members, moreover, an instrument of generation and management of knowledge, and an internationalization platform to common destinations
  •          Attraction of markets, talents and investments
  •          Creation of new complementary activities in the field of transport and logistics
  •          Organisation of the Atlantic Logistics and Transport Exhibition - SALT
  •          Organisation of Transport Technological Innovations Forum - Transnova
  •          Design, promotion, revitalization and management of national, international and/or cross-border collaborative projects.


Every year, the CCTL organises the SALT (Atlantic Transports and Logistics Exhibition) ( The SALT is strategic for the transport, logistics and distribution sector, but also for other sectors of the local economy. This professional fair offers important opportunities to enterprises and entities as it promotes new possibilities for business and commercial contacts, to share knowledge and experiences and to discover new and innovating elements. In previous editions, representatives attended form different EU-countries, Morocco, Cape Verde, Mauritania, Senegal and Equatorial Guinea. The 4th edition was awarded as the Best Logistic Initiative of the Year in Spain In 2013.


The CCTL is and has been involved in several regional and national projects, outlining the following projects and events at European and International level:

“MOVE Project” (Moving the Future) [2015-2017] – COSME Program – Cluster GO International – 4 European regions (Spain, Bulgaria, France and Italy) – The project MOVE aims at creating a European Strategic Cluster Partnership in the field of mobility industry, fostering the European collaboration between clusters in transport and logistics, ICT and green technologies. The Partnership will aim at raising a new value chain from the cross-sectorial and cross border cooperation, and foster SMEs’ internationalization by targeting specific Third Countries in North Africa and Latin America.

 “InTraRegio Project”  - 7º FP (Region of Knowledge) – [2012-2014] – Towards an Intermodal Transport Network through innovative research-driven clusters in Regions of organised and competitive knowledge, the CCTL led two work-packets, supported two international events of the InTraRegio project and organised a workshop on the topic: "Port, Sea Terminal and Fleet Management" in Fuerteventura in November 2014. The project involved 18 Partners from the following 5 Regions: Canary Islands (Spain), Bremen (Germany), Calabria (Italy), Marmara (Turkey) and Ruse (Bulgaria).

During the last workshop in Fuerteventura, the CCTL signed an International Agreement between the clusters CCTL (Canary Islands), LogDynamics (Bremen) and LOGIPOLE SMD (region of Souss Massa Drâa, Morocco).

-“Canarias Aporta II Project” [2014] - A project funded by the regional government of the Canary Islands through the Canarian Society of Economic Development, SA, PROEXCA. Three members of the CCTL actively participated in this project. The main objective was the study of a new maritime line between the Canary Islands (Spain) and Tarfaya (Marocco).


“Qantara Project”- Spain External Border Cooperation Program (POCTEFEX) - [2012-2013] – For the CCTL, the aim of this project was to transfer its knowledge of the creation and consolidation of a cluster in the transport and logistic sector to the region of Souss-Massa-Drâa. The project has met his main objective and the cluster LOGIPOLE-SMD was created in September 2013, and, since then, the CCTL is studying and establishing possibilities of collaboration between the clusters and between their associates.
